Congratulations Kate Compton, 2018 Elks Rodeo Queen!!

Hi my name is Kate Compton, and it is my privilege to be the 2018 Elks Rodeo Queen Candidate representing VTC Enterprises. I am currently a junior at Nipomo High School; I am 16 years old and have dreamed of being a Rodeo Queen since childhood. Each year I ride my horse in the Elks Rodeo Parade and have been a flag girl for the Elks Rodeo for the past two years and am now excited to be a part of the Elks Rodeo in a new and different way. While in high school I have been involved in agriculture where I enjoy the Future Farmers of America program and being in activities with my horses.

After graduating from high school, I plan to attend a four-year university, preferably an agricultural school such as Cal Poly SLO, Fresno State, or University of Las Vegas (UNLV). For my future career, I plan to be a Veterinary Pharmaceutical Representative because of my love for horses and their welfare.

Supporting me, are my parents, Peter and Lynn Compton, my grandparents and my twin sister, Kristin. John Glines (campaign chair) and Erika Weber (co-chair), and all the rest of VTC will be a major driving force behind my campaign, along with my parents.

I expect that running for Elks Rodeo Queen will hold many opportunities. I hope to learn how to manage my time and money in an efficient way, all while growing as an individual. I am honored to be helping my community and the people of VTC. I am excited to make new friends and a difference at VTC, because they do so much for others in our community.

Again, thank you to my family, friends and the community for giving me this opportunity to make an impact in our small part of the world.
