Congratulations Ashley Singh, 2016 Elks Rodeo Queen!!

My name is Ashley Singh and I am honored to be the 2016 rodeo queen candidate representing VTC Enterprises. I am 17 years old and am currently a junior at St. Joseph High School. I have prayed a lot for a chance like this to help make a difference in our world and my first step is making a difference in my community. VTC is a great organization that provides training in areas related to employment and daily living for adults with disabilities. I honestly couldn’t be more delighted to participate in this amazing opportunity to raise money for a great cause.

At age five I started riding horses and since then continued to grow more deeply in love with them. From English showing to western riding I have enjoyed all that I have learned. Recently I started teaching younger children how to care for and ride horses. As long as I could remember I enjoyed the Elks rodeo and always hoped and prayed that one day I would be a part of it. In 2013 my wonderful horse, Tahira Mar, and I had the amazing opportunity to be a sponsor flag carrier for the PCRA Pro Rodeo and again the following year carrying Mega 97.1.

I am beyond excited for this year’s campaign and I have so many friends and family to help back me up. My number one supporters are my parents John and Laura Singh.  I have two younger sisters Chelsea (15) and Delanie (10). John Glines (Chairman), and the entire staff at VTC is my new extended family which I will always be grateful for. I sure couldn’t forget my amazing faithful friends from my youth group at Calvary Chapel Santa Maria. Their continued prayers are so encouraging.

Since my freshman year in high school, I have worked at Trattoria Uliveto in Orcutt and have grown so close to everyone who works there and they couldn’t me more excited to root me on!

After High School I plan to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and major in veterinarian science, specializing in Horse Chiropractic care. I will keep my faith and trust in God throughout this whole experience and I hope to be a great Christian role model to everyone around me. I couldn’t be more blessed to be chosen to represent VTC, so let’s get this “show on the road”.
